Enterprise Risk Management as a Leadership Tool
Join us for an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) presentation, by Bob Westbrooks of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, which will provide perspectives and insights on ERM implementation in the public sector in general, share good practices and lessons learned from implementation within a small Federal office/agency, and demonstrate the applicability and value of ERM principles to leaders of teams and organizations of all sizes.
Bob Westbrooks is the Inspector General of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), where he provides independent oversight of the Federal government’s private-sector defined benefit pension insurance programs which protect the retirement benefits of nearly 40 million workers and retirees. Bob has over twenty years of federal law enforcement experience. He has served in leadership positions in four federal Offices of Inspectors General and has served on detail to two U.S. Senate subcommittees. Bob is currently serving as the Chair of the Professional Development Committee of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), and is a member of the CIGIE Executive Council. Bob is a lawyer by training and is a committed life-long learner. He is a certified public accountant, certified internal auditor, certified information systems auditor, and certified fraud examiner. His current area of study is enterprise risk management, and he is a frequent speaker and writer on this topic.
