Please join us for a dinner meeting on "Staying safe on the streets" with speaker Lt. John M. Weinstein, Commander, Strategic Planning and Outreach, Northern Virginia Community College Police Department.

Learning Objectives and Program Content: At the end of this session, participants will have tips for staying safe on the streets and be more knowledgeable on crimes, specifically against women.

Bio:

Lt. John Weinstein is a Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Police Department district commander, overseeing police operations on two campuses with 30,000 students and 2,000 faculty and staff.  Before joining NOVA, he was a patrol officer, deputy sheriff, and chief of police. He is a certified instructor in Verbal Judo, firearms, and active shooter tactical response and teaches communications, firearms, officer survival, active incident response, and patrol techniques at local police academies.  Weinstein holds a Ph. D. in International Politics and is a nationally recognized expert in nuclear weapons command and control. He is a regular contributor to Campus Safety magazine and serves on its editorial board.
