Please join us for a dinner meeting where our guest-panelist Tamika L. Tremaglio, the Deloitte Managing Principal for the Greater Washington area will lead a discussion on “How to be successful in a corporate world” with moderator Kelly Klomparnes, DC Chapter AFWA Vice President and Senior Auditor at Public Broadcasting service.

Learning Objectives and Program Content:

The discussion will cover a variety of topics, from challenges on different levels of career, meaning of success, responsibilities, sharing personal experiences and providing takeaways for participants. By the end of the presentation, participants will have actionable tips and guidance on how to be successful in a corporate world.

Bio:

Tamika Tremaglio is the Deloitte Managing Principal for the Greater Washington area which has over 13,000 practitioners. She has served as the East Regional Leader for Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory, and on the firm’s Board Council, Next Generation of Leaders and US Nominating committee, in which Deloitte US named its first female CEO – the first of the Big 4! Tamika was the former Dean for Deloitte’s Next Generation of CLO’s Academy and currently serves on the Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP (DTBA) Board as Corporate Secretary. Tamika has significant experience in global forensic accounting investigations, anti-corruption investigations, and corporate governance matters in many industries.  She has been involved in matters with the SEC and Department of Justice where issues surrounding executive conduct and whistleblower allegations have been called into question. Tamika gives back to her community in a myriad of ways by serving on numerous boards [Chairman of the Board for the Council for Court Excellence, President of the Women’s National Basketball Players Association Foundation, Corporate Secretary and Board member for the United Way of the National Capital Area and is on the boards of the Born This Way Foundation, Greater Washington Board of Trade, University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Tuskegee University, Mount St. Mary’s University and the National Aquarium in Baltimore].

Tamika holds an MBA and a JD and has been a frequent lecturer on corporate governance and global anti-corruption investigations and compliance issues. Most recently, Washingtonian magazine recognized Tamika as one of the Top 150 Most Powerful Women in Washington, DC. She was also named to Washington Business Journals 2019 Power 100: Washington’s most influential newsmakers.  In 2018 Tamika received the C-Suite Managing Partner Award and in 2017 she was named to the list of Women Who Mean Business – both honors, bestowed upon her by the Washington Business Journal. She is a recipient of numerous awards [NBA Commercial Law Section: 2018 Cora T. Walker Award, the National Bar Association’s Cora T. Walker Legacy Award in 2013 and the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Black Law Student Association’s 2014 Alumna of the Year Award]. Tamika was also featured on Essence magazine’s Power & Money List 2014 in which she was recognized as a “Game Changer” with the likes of Queen Latifah.
