The District of Columbia Chapter of the Accounting and Financial Women's Alliance (AFWA) offers an undergraduate or graduate scholarship opportunity for $1,500 for an eligible candidate!  The next scholarship opportunity is intended for use for the fall 2020 - spring 2021 school year and will be announced in fall 2019. The scholarship is expected to be awarded in May of 2020, and the application can be found on this page once available later in 2019.

Scholarship recipients are not required to be student members of the AFWA District of Columbia Chapter but are encouraged to join. Scholarship candidates may join the Chapter at www.AFWA.org/join. Scholarship candidates will be reviewed on leadership, character, communication skills, scholastic average and financial need.

Scholarship awards are presented to students who have completed their sophomore year of college (or 60 semester hours or the equivalent) or are in a Master's program by the time of the application deadline and are majoring in accounting or finance. Candidates are required to have and maintain a cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent.
